With three locations in Germany, Plasser Robel Services (PRS) is the largest service organization of the Plasser & Theurer Group. We are proud to be part of this family-owned, unlisted company that has been in business for 70 years. Our employees have a clear mission: we accompany rail-bound vehicles throughout their machine life.
Our business areas cover all the services that are relevant to our customers. This makes PRS a true one-stop store for track construction machines from Plasser & Theurer and ROBEL:
OUR PASSION FOR RAILROAD CONSTRUCTION MACHINERY
We deal with technically complex machines that cannot be denied a certain cult factor. You can’t miss them on the track – mostly sunny yellow, many meters long and weighing several tons.
With their work assignments, they help to ensure that the railroad remains a safe and sustainable means of transport: they move masses of ballast, process or transport rails, and provide a comfortable, protected space for the people who work on the track.
WHAT DRIVES US
On average, we overhaul 100 tamping units per year. This means that each individual unit is equipped for at least 500,000 further tamping operations – depending on the ballast condition and maintenance of the units.
We send an average of 100 parcels and 40 shipments per week worldwide, ensuring a smooth supply of spare parts.
Together, our 30 service technicians clock up around 800,000 km a year and collect around 75,000 air miles. Figuratively speaking, they circle the globe 23 times.
On average, we refurbish around 1,300 wheelsets and 130 bogies every year, keeping the wheels rolling!
We modernize and repair almost 100 machines a year at our two sites in Freilassing and Opladen to achieve our goal of “extending machine life”. This is how we make them fit – for many more years of intensive track construction.

Sustainable industry Future security and environmental friendliness are good reasons for a job in the currently expanding railroad construction industry. The demand for green mobility is steadily increasing and there will be constant investment in rail over the next few years. As a service provider, we keep rail construction machinery on track and are an important factor in the smooth running of track construction sites.
