Speed control for tamping units

Changing the vibration frequency selectively

The additional control system allows the vibration frequency to be adjusted during tamping. During the tamping process, the vibration frequency remains at the ideal and qualitative tamping value of exactly 35 Hz.

In the raised state, the reduced idle frequency is only 28 Hz. Vibration superimpositions are thus minimized, which also significantly reduces noise pollution.

When the tamping tines are immersed, the frequency increases to 45 Hz. This makes it easier to penetrate the ballast, especially in highly compacted ballast beds, which leads to an increase in efficiency.

Your advantage:

  • Easier penetration into the ballast bed with high tamping quality thanks to stable vibration amplitude in all work phases
  • Faster immersion in hardened bedding and therefore more power
  • Reduced wear of the tamping units
  • Minimized maintenance costs and increased machine service life
  • Reduced fuel consumption by up to 10%
  • Noise reduction of approx. 4 dBA
