We can do more service

In addition to our main brands Plasser & Theurer and ROBEL railroad construction machines, we also rework components and machines of other manufacturers. In the last years we were allowed to support the following brands in the field of wheelsets, bogies and gearboxes – KIROW, ELH, LORAM, Matisa, Gmeinder, Henschel and Voith.

We are currently reworking the drive sets of the BR708.3 Deutsche Bahn vehicle, which were manufactured in the former GDR. This is an extensive order that includes everything from refurbishing the wheelsets and bogies to procuring the gears, bearings, seals and many other parts. The customer also provides wheel discs, shafts and brake discs to keep the schedule as tight as possible.

How does an order like this work at PRS? We can perform the following works ourselves thanks to our professional staff, modern machinery and extensive stock:

▶ Pressing off the wheel disks and brake disks on our own wheelset press
▶ Disassembly and cleaning of the gear components
▶ Testing of components for reusability by means of non-destructive testing
▶ Replacing the wear parts and defective parts
▶ Assembly of the gear units incl. Sealing and screwing
▶ Pressing on the wheel discs and brake discs on our wheel press
